I just finished setting up my new printer. It works well with my desktop but this printer model does not support printing from iPhone or iPad, even though it is listed here as capable of mobile printing. I just confirmed this by calling HP support. The technician said that I would need to buy a different model—Laser M203DW—to print from my mobile devices. The app designed to solve this (HP ePrint app) is being discontinued.

Hi Vicky, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review, we regret the challenges you are experiencing with wireless connectivity. I understand you’re trying to print from your Apple devices. Your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch) and printer must be connected to the same private 802.11 wireless network. AirPrint uses Bonjour, Apple’s zero-configuration networking, to automatically discover your wireless printer over the local network. HP offers several free mobile printing apps through the App Store that work with most HP wireless printers and Apple iOS devices. Please try the following document in order to resolve the issue:http://hp.care/2nZRGEv and http://hp.care/2mJTnVo

HP LaserJet Pro M12w Wireless Laser Printer look alike HP LaserJet Pro P1102w. Compared to P1102w M12w is 2 inch smaller in heigh, and depth. It is compatible with 79A Toner Cartridge. 79A Toner Cartridge is $54 and output yields about 1000 pages of black and white printing. P1102w is compatible with 89A Toner Cartridge that output yields 1500 pages and cost $25. HP LaserJet Pro has similar features as P1102w and in reduced weight and size. CPU is same as well as RAM size is 8 MB for both models. Cost of initial ownership for M12w is lower than P1102w but higher on long term toner cartridge price as of yet. It has built in wireless connectivity and USB. HP Software should be installed on Mac OS X as new software is required for HP LaserJet Pro to function correctly. Without adding proper software and adding printer will result in no-response from Printer if you use generic printer profile. Output of paper is very clean HP LaserJet Print quality which is excellent. Only difference is compared with its own previous model, new M12w is smaller in size, and thus smaller toner container in 79A Toner cartridge which is about 1000 pages worth of toners. The cartridge is more expensive however compared to 89A toner cartridge that has been on the market for longer time period.

I have never been so dissatisfied with a product in all my life. I have owned 2 older versions of this printer and LOVED them both. I had to order a new printer because when my Mac OS updated there were no longer compatible drivers. So, I ordered this one knowing how much I had loved the previous versions and was excited that this one had wireless capabilities. However, I really should have paid better attention to the negative reviews.

I am very tech savvy. I spend my days working from the computer. I spent an hour of my time trying to install and set up this printer to print wirelessly with NO success! So I tried HP support. After 2 hours chatting with them and allowing them to take control of my computer remotely, wireless printing was still not an option so I hooked up the USB cable and was able to at least print from my computer. Today, 2 months after purchasing my printer, I decided I needed to try and figure this out. I contacted HP support and Nathan was kind enough to get my computer printing wirelessly to the printer after an additional HOUR of taking over my computer. I asked for help getting my Chromebook set up to print to this HP printer and after an additional HOUR of support help with another representative, my Samsung Chromebook still cannot print to this printer. I feel completely let down by HP. NO PRINTER should be this difficult to set up. NO PRINTER should require 4 hours of customer service to get it working. Don’t make the same mistake I did. IF YOU WANT TO PRINT WIRELESSLY do not purchase this printer.
